More than 20 years before today’s One Piece Card Game, collectors in Japan were already competing for One Piece cards.
Released as part of Bandai’s early One Piece card game in 2002, these “license” promos were distributed through competitive play, with different cards awarded for participation and tournament achievements.
The examples shown here range from an Usopp Rookie License participation prize and Chopper Pirate License awarded for five wins to Luffy Top 5 and tournament winner prizes. At the top is the Gold Roger Pirate King License, awarded as a National Tour winner prize.
