In 2017, a 12-year-old named Andrew Park made a bold move at a card show, spending $40,000 on a 1/1 National Treasures Logoman rookie of Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’d spent years flipping Pokémon and sports cards, sharpening his instincts and trusting his own read on the market.
While others questioned the price, and Giannis’ long-term ceiling, Andrew stayed patient. Three years later, that same card sold for $1.8M, becoming the highest publicly sold Giannis card ever, and the most expensive basketball card sale at the time.
