Foil, Fire, and Flashy First-Evers in The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game

Hawthorne, Calif. (November 2, 2023) – The holiday season is coming up quick in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), and it’s time for some festive firsts! Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is excited to present a trio of new releases this November and December, breaking plenty of new ground for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. It all starts with the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, the first TCG release where every card is available in 7 different rarities – including luxury foil technologies that were only available in Japan! Then, 3 new Deck themes debut in the Valiant Smashers booster set, where 3 cards will be available as Quarter Century Secret Rares – the first 60-card special booster set ever to feature them. And finally, warm your hearth with Structure Deck: Fire Kings, a brand-new Structure Deck that rekindles the Fire King theme. Get ready because it’s time…to Yule!

It’s finally here: the Rarity Collection concept makes its debut in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG this November. The 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection is one of the biggest highlights of the year in Dueling, a spectacular reprint release featuring 79 cards that are proven fan favorites for tournament-level competitors! Arm yourself with an arsenal of monsters you can play straight from your hand in response to your opponent’s moves, like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, Dimension Shifter, and Nibiru, the Primal Being! These cards are tournament mainstays, fitting into almost any Deck.

Reinforce your strategy with cards that make your Deck more consistent: Pot of Desires, Pot of Extravagance, Pot of Prosperity, and Small World all help you find the cards you need, while Dark Ruler No More, Lightning Storm, Forbidden Droplet, and Triple Tactics Talent all help secure your strategy against your opponent’s interference. Or do some interfering yourself! Load up on powerful Trap Cards like Summon Limit, Dimensional Barrier, Harpie’s Feather Storm, Infinite Impermanence, Evenly Matched, and Ice Dragon’s Prison, and use your Spells and Traps to tear apart your opponent’s plans.

Useful, powerful Effect Monsters like Lava Golem, Tour Guide From the Underworld, The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode, and Danger!? Jackalope? can power up a wide variety of your Decks. Fusion Monsters like Predaplant Dragostapelia, Masked HERO Dark Law, and Mudragon of the Swamp return! Synchro Monsters such as Herald of the Arc Light, Borreload Savage Dragon, and even the mighty Baronne de Fleur are yours to command! Unleash powerful Xyz Monsters like Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon and Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star; or Link Summon modern classics like Striker Dragon, Knightmare Unicorn, and Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians! Even old-school favorites are back, from Change of Heart and Reasoning to Reinforcement of the Army and Spellbook of Judgment.

And the best part? Every card in the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection comes in 7 different rarities: some easy to find, and some so scarce that they’re sure to be sought after by collectors and passionate competitors alike! Each pack has 2 Super Rares, 1 Secret Rare, and 2 Ultra Rares, but lucky Duelists could find more: the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection includes a whopping 4 “luxury rarities” as well! The Secret Rare in every pack has a 1-in-4 chance of being a Platinum Secret Rare or Quarter Century Secret Rare, while each Ultra Rare has a 1-in-6 chance to be upgraded to a new “Prismatic” style Collector’s Rare, or a “Prismatic” style Ultimate Rare! Every pack has a chance to contain 1, 2, or even 3 of these incredible cards!

Take your Deck to the next level with the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection on November 3! The complete set consists of 79 cards plus 2 variant art cards, each available as Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Secret Rare, Platinum Secret Rare, Quarter Century Secret Rare, Prismatic Collector’s Rare, and Prismatic Ultimate Rare variants! MSRP: $4.99 per 5-card pack.

25th Anniversary Rarity Collection

Get ready to rock your opponents with 3 new Deck themes in Valiant Smashers. First, team up with a pair of genius knights to unleash a magical mecha golem warbot! Then, fill your Graveyard with the new “Memento” monsters and Summon forth a massive Wyrm with 5000 Attack Points, attacking every monster your opponent controls! And finally, the fate of the Duel depends on which path you choose to dominate your Duel! With 3 new paths to victory, Valiant Smashers is all about “smashing” your opponent’s expectations…

Who wouldn’t want their very own fighting robot? Assemble your Synchro Materials and Summon a Level 12 Machine-Type with 3500 ATK and an ability that protects your monsters. Even better? Every time you Special Summon it, this mighty mecha monster draws you a card and destroys your opponent’s biggest attacker! This stunning Synchro Monster can turn allies into Continuous Traps, creating a strategy where monster cards bounce between your Monster Zones and your Spell and Trap Zones, triggering powerful tricks as they go! Search and protect your comrades in arms, temporarily banish monsters at will and negate your opponent’s best effects to lock in the win.

What’s better than a 3500 ATK Synchro Monster? How about a 5000 ATK behemoth from the netherworld realm, that can attack every monster your opponent has? March forth your “Memento” monsters to destroy cards, rally your forces, and load your Graveyard. Once you’ve assembled 5 monsters from the theme in your hand and Graveyard, shuffle them all back to your Deck to Special Summon this 5000 ATK nightmare! Once you do, its powers will revive your forces, and its presence on the field allows your Level 1 monsters to discard themselves to shield your field or take control of opposing monsters during their Main Phase!

Finally, cut some deals with the forces of light and darkness to wield the power of this brand-new theme! Yes, this new Pendulum and Link Summoning strategy lets you choose your fate, bargaining Life Points to build your heavenly or demonic choir. Gather enough resonance and you can Link Summon one or both of this theme’s boss monsters, protecting your cards and reusing spent ones, or demolishing your opponent’s monsters and attacking multiple times! Strike up the band, call on the forces of brilliance and shadow, and end your opponent!

Stand up and take to the front lines with Valiant Smashers on November 17! The complete set includes 60 cards: 35 Rares, 15 Super Rares, and 10 Ultra Rares. Of those 60 cards, 15 are also available as Collector’s Rares. And for the first time in a 60-card set, 3 cards are also available as Quarter Century Secret Rares! MSRP: $4.49 per 7-card pack.

Valiant Smashers

The empire of immolation is back. Structure Deck: Fire Kings marks the return of Fire King High Avatar Garunix, Fire King Avatar Kirin, and more, as fiery fan favorites reappear in re-trained forms! It’s been 10 long years since the Fire Kings first appeared in Structure Deck: Onslaught of the Fire Kings, but the OG flame fam is finally ready for an incandescent comeback! Eight new cards rekindle the fires of victory, with new Spell Cards, Trap Cards, Main Deck monsters, and even a massive new boss monster that’s formidable in Fire Kings but could heat up dozens of other Decks as well.

First out of the fire? A new Xyz Monster unleashes the explosive power of Garunix! As a Rank 8 you can Xyz Summon it with two or more Level 8 monsters, and when you do its first effect destroys every other monster on the field! From there, each turn, you can detach a material to target and destroy a Spell or Trap Card, and each time you do, gain 500 ATK permanently! And if this monster’s destroyed in any way while it has material, you can revive “Fire King” monsters from your Graveyard up to the number of materials it had. With 3000 ATK to start, you can slash and burn the field, melt your opponent’s backrow, and light up their Life Points.
How do you Summon such a fearsome force? Structure Deck: Fire Kings includes lots of easy-to-Summon Level 8 monsters, like Coach Captain Bearman, Bonfire Colossus, and The Blazing Mars. But it also introduces a new, upgraded version of Fire King High Avatar Garunix, a Level 8 you can Special Summon from your hand or Graveyard when a FIRE monster you control is destroyed. When it hits the field with its 2700 ATK, you can destroy a FIRE Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged-Beast in your hand, face-up on your field, or even in your Deck, and boost this new monster’s Attack Points by half the ATK of whatever you destroyed – a big boost, and an awesome way to trigger your Fire King effects! Match it with the new Fire King High Avatar Kirin, another Level 8 with 2400 ATK; during the Main Phase, you can destroy another FIRE monster in your hand or on your field to Special Summon it. If it’s destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon another Fire King from your hand or Graveyard, then destroy any 1 card on the field!

How do you support these powerful pyro-philes? A new pint-sized Winged Beast clocks in at Level 1, and you can Special Summon it from your hand whenever one of your FIRE monsters are destroyed by battle or card effect. Whenever it’s Normal or Special Summoned, you can add a “Fire King” Spell or Trap from your Deck to your hand. And the best part: whenever it’s destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can return it to your hand on the next turn! Look for it with new “Sinful Spoils” cards from Age of Overlord to really get fired up. Meanwhile a new Level 4 “Fire King Avatar” lets you destroy your FIRE monsters to negate Spells and Traps; a new Continuous Spell that allows you to look for and protect Fire King Island; a new Quick-Play Spell destroys your Fire King monsters and your opponent’s cards; and a new Trap Card Special Summons 3 FIRE monsters at once, from your hand, Deck, and Graveyard!

Structure Deck: Fire Kings also includes plenty of handy reprints, from Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju and Droll & Lock Bird, to Infinite Impermanence and Coach King Giantrainer (which hasn’t been reprinted in over 5 years!). Score some extra copies of Dark Hole, Trade-In, Chain Destruction, Torrential Tribute, and more, all cards that are useful in lots of Decks.

The royalty reignites with Structure Deck: Fire Kings on December 6. Each Structure Deck comes with 48 cards: 40 Commons, 3 Super Rares, and 5 Ultra Rares! MSRP: $11.99 per box.
