There’s a little bit of everything when it comes to the Corey Seager Rookie Card lineup. The shortstop arrived in MLB as one of the game’s top prospects at the time.
Originally draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012, Seager made his debut with the big league team on September 3, 2015. Rookie of the Year honors followed in 2016 and it wasn’t long before he was recognized as one of baseball’s top hitters. Seager remained with the Dodgers before signing a free agent deal with the Texas Rangers prior to the 2022 season.
Seager’s not only one of baseball’s best bats, but he’s proven a knack for coming through when it matters most. A two-time World Series Champion before his 30th birthday, the Charlotte native did so with both the Dodgers (2020) and Rangers (2023). Both times, Seager was named World Series MVP. He also took NLCS MVP honors in 2020.
The Earliest Corey Seager Baseball Cards
The first Corey Seager cards actually came out five years before his MLB debut (and two years before the Dodgers drafted him). These are found in 2010 Bowman Draft with standard Bowman, Bowman Chrome and Bowman Chrome autographs as a member of the USA Baseball team. Seager is also part of the 2010 Topps USA Baseball box set, including more autographs.
His first Bowman Chrome autograph in a MLB uniform is found in 2012 Bowman Draft. This is widely considered his most important and iconic card.
Going by traditional definitions, neither of his first Bowman Chrome appearances are Rookie Cards due to the fact that they’re prospect-driven releases.
After making his debut far too late for 2015 releases, Corey Seager Rookie Cards are available across 2016 releases.
