In space, they might not be able to hear you scream, but they can probably see your snot. 2023 Topps Garbage Pail Kids InterGOOlactic Mayhem heads into space to test the theory.
Keeping with the past several years worth of major GPK releases not named Chrome, there are both hobby and collector configurations. Both come with their own assortment of inserts and exclusives.
2023 Topps Garbage Pail Kids InterGOOlactic Mayhem Checklist Overview
The base set looks to science fiction for its overriding theme. Collectors can look for plenty of pop culture references like those found in Oh, The Horrorible, We Hate the ’80s and more.
Parallels include:
- Black Hole – 1 per collector pack
- Booger Green – 1 per hobby pack
- Moonrock Grey – /199
- Galaxy Blue – /99 (hobby only)
- Supernova Red – /75 (collector only)
- Fool’s Gold – /50
- Printing Plates – 1/1
There are also Artist Autographs that have their own Fool’s Gold (/50) and FoilFractor (1/1) versions. Brent Engstrom, David Gross, Joe Simko and Smokin’ Joe are included among the signers.
A handful of insert themes are also part of the GPK InterGOOlactic Mayhem checklist.
Space Farce imagines Garbage Pail Kids characters going through space training. Art for these is done by GPK legend, Tom Bunk.
Time Warp, which has a mix of classic and modern characters, goes to different time periods and dimensions. Artist Autographs are available for these as well.
Kosmic Krashers marks the first time the GPK Krashers line has made its way into traditional packs. Typically an online-exclusive, now they’re inserts. Not only that, but they’re collector box exclusives.
It’s the same for Wacky Packages: Planetary Provisions. These mash up GPK characters, Wacky Packs and space-themed products.
3D and GPK Patch cards are also collector-only inserts. Patches have Galaxy Blue (/99), Supernova Red (/75), Fool’s Gold (/50) and FoilFractor (1/1) parallels.
Sketch cards come in a handful of forms. Standard sketches and Puzzle Sketch Cards are hobby-only. Shaped and Triptych Sketch Cards are exclusive to collector boxes. Panoramic Sketch Cards are the only ones found in both configurations.
