2023 Rittenhouse Star Trek Discovery Season 4 continues to tell the story of the current spin-off with many of the same elements. This includes a big focus on autographs with three per box. And while collectors will have the chance to get a variety of signatures from many of Discovery‘s leads, it’s some of the guests who are likely to get significant attention.
Other expected hobby box contents include a memorabilia cards, a handful of inserts and plentiful parallels.
2023 Rittenhouse Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Checklist Overview
The base set has 78 cards, which might seem like an odd number until you break it down. Each of the 13 Season 4 episodes is covered over six cards. This allows for key plot points to be touched on and lets larger arcs play out.
Two levels of parallels are available. Gold are one per pack while Red are one per hobby box (1:24 packs).
Autographs
At the top of the autograph checklist is Discovery‘s lead, Sonequa Martin-Green who plays Michael Burnham. Other regulars in the product include Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Lt. Cmdr. Stamets), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Kulber) and Blu Del Barrio (Adira Tal).
However, the name that many will be talking about isn’t from an actor, but a politician instead. Stacey Abrams, who made a brief appearance in the show as President of United Earth, has her first autograph cards in the product.
Another notable name from outside Discovery is David Cronenberg, best known for directing movies like The Fly, Videodrome, Naked Lunch and Dead Ringers. This isn’t the Canadian director’s first autograph card, though. His signature previously appeared in 2004 Inkworks Alias Season 3.
Autograph cards come in several styles and designs. Full-Bleed and Bordered versions are joined by Inscriptions and Autograph Relics. Inscriptions average out to five per case. Collectors can expect to pull a pair of autographed memorabilia cards per case as well.
Additional Inserts
In addition to the promised three autographs, hobby boxes also have one of 28 different Relic cards that have a costume swatch.
Sticking with the wardrobe theme are Costume Design inserts (27 cards, 1:8 packs). These delve into what characters wear on screen.
Other insert sets that should each appear approximately one per box are Behind the Scenes (13 cards), Relationships (18 cards) and Storyboards (11 cards). Captain’s Chair (seven cards) are 1:48 packs.
From here, things get significantly tougher. Starfleet’s Finest (12 cards) are all numbered to 99 copies each while UK Stamp Cards (three cards) are 1:576 packs.
Sketch cards are also randomly inserted. Adam Cleveland, Roy Cover, Kevin Graham, Charles Hall, Brent Ragland, and Westley Smith are among the artists working on the set.
Two case toppers are also available.
Incentives
Those ordering six cases from Rittenhouse receive one of two different Dual Autographs. One features Martin-Green and Abrams while the other has Martin Green and David Ajala (Cleveland Booker).
An Archive Box is given to those as a 12-case incentive. Exclusive autographs, variations and printing plates are among the contents.
