The big change in 2023 Panini Select Baseball versus other recent sets for the line isn’t so much how the checklist is structured but rather who’s on it. Like the card maker’s other baseball sets this season, it’s a mix of prospects and stars from the past — no current veterans as Topps owner Fanatics now has the exclusive deal with the MLBPA.
Beyond that, though, Select remains a colorful chromium entry in Panini’s diamond portfolio. Autographs and memorabilia each land two per hobby box.
2023 Panini Select Baseball Checklist Overview
One of the features that makes all modern Select sets different from most other products is the base set. Overall, it’s 300 cards. However, it breaks down into three different sections: Concourse, Premier Level and Diamond. Concourse cards are the most common followed by Premier Level. This leaves Diamond as the rarest portion of the base checklist.
Prizms parallels are plentiful with an expected eight in every hobby box. Three are Holo versions while two are Tri-Color Prizms. The remaining trio come from an assortment of serial numbered colors and patterns. Gold Prizms, Zebra Prizms and Gold Vinyl Prizms are just a few of the options.
2023 Select Baseball has several places on its checklist reserved for autographs. Signatures, Prospect Signatures and debuting Select Company Signatures are a start.
Prospect Jersey Autographs, Select Swatches Signatures and Signature Swatches are spots to get memorabilia alongside the ink.
