2022 Donruss Optic Football is adding a little jazz to its checklist. Once again, it finds its roots in the season’s standard Donruss set, only this time using chrome. With that comes its own assortment of colorful parallels including some new ones.
2022 Donruss Optic Football Checklist Overview
Optic has a 300-card base set. It’s not the biggest of the season, but there is some meat to it. Two hundred of those are veterans while the remaining 100 fall under the Rated Rookie banner.
Design-wise, it’s the same as 2022 Donruss Football. However, the Optic makeover adds a level of metal and shine to the mix.
The parallel lineup has lots of color but also a growing number of illustrated spins like Jazz, Rocket and Electricity.

Autographs and Inserts
Rated Rookie RPS Autographs return with key names from the season’s first-year crop. According to Panini, these have on-card ink. Base versions have no more than 150 copies each with a rainbow of parallels also in the mix:

- Red – /75 or less
- Pink Velocity – /50 or less
- Purple – /35 or less
- Black Pandora – /25 or less
- Ice – /15 or less
- Gold – /10 or less
- Green – /5 or less
- Gold Vinyl – 1/1
While there isn’t much on the checklist in the way of memorabilia, there are Rookie Patch Autographs and Legendary Patch Autographs. In both instances, base versions have no more than 25 copies each with one-of-one Gold Vinyl parallels.
When it comes to standard inserts, Downtown is among the highlights. These are also among the tougher cards to find, landing as a case hit. These also get the Gold Vinyl (1/1) treatment.
They’re not the only short print inserts on the 2022 Donruss Optic Football checklist, either. There’s also Blazers, which makes its debut.
Other inserts include Diamond Hands, Light It Up, Mythical and Rookie Kings.
