Starting Lineup figures, a mainstay in 1980s and ’90s sports collecting, are back — and they’re not like you remember. Gone are the days of questionable likeness and statuesque poses. Now you can instantly recognize players and pose them in a variety of ways. The 2022-23 Starting Lineup NBA figures are the ones to kick off the new era.
Released in a partnership between Hasbro and Fanatics, the first wave of figures will be exclusively sold through the collector-focused Hasbro Pulse site and a variety of Fanatics sites. Each costs $49.99.
Figures stand six-inches tall and have a detailed likeness and lots of points of articulation. The 2022-23 Starting Lineup NBA figures also include an exclusive Panini trading card and an NFT.
Starting Lineup figures originally debut in 1988 and quickly grew into one of the most recognized names in the hobby. It eventually covered all four major sports plus NASCAR, track and field stars and more. The initial run came to an end in 2001. In recent years, the brand has been used for stadium giveaway figures.
