Game night just got more interesting for NBA card collectors thanks to 2022-23 Panini Monopoly Prizm Basketball.
Cards arrive in the official Monopoly Prizm game and in Blaster-style Booster boxes. The product line releases at Target starting on April 16.
While this marks the first Monopoly collaboration for Panini, Upper Deck previously issued 2001 baseball cards as part of limited Mets and Cardinals Monopoly sets.
2022-23 Panini Monopoly Prizm Basketball Set Details
Checking in with a much smaller lineup compared to the standard Prizm NBA release, 2022-23 Panini Monopoly Prizm Basketball has 90 cards in the base set.
Of course, there are multiple parallels and Panini mentioned that “all of the parallels were inspired by the Monopoly game itself.” This includes Money Shimmer cards that match the color and numbering of the money from the game. Boardwalk Blue Tiger Stripe pairs the high-end property color with the animal-inspired border.
On top of that, Dice, Handshake Deal, Question Mark, and Running Monopoly Man parallels provide the most obvious connections to the game.
As for the exclusives, the Monopoly Black parallels are only in the board game format, iCollect Blasters have exclusive Free Parking cards, and Black Money versions are just in Retail Blasters.
