2022-23 Donruss Optic Basketball has a few things happening on its checklist. First off, and most obvious, it’s got the chromium twist on the earlier 2022-23 Donruss release including several of its inserts. Then there are the parallels that mix colors and patterns. For autograph collectors, they’re in here as well, including on-card Rated Rookie Signatures.
2022-23 Donruss Optic Basketball Checklist Overview
The base set has 250 total cards. Most of those are veterans from around the league. There are rookies, though. Fifty first-year freshman are included under the Rated Rookie banner. The design is the same as the main Donruss set. However, because they’re printed on opti-chrome stock, there’s a more metallic look and slightly upscale feel.
Parallels come in several levels. The following are all available exclusively in hobby packs:
- Photon
- Basketball
- Orange – /199
- Lime Green – /149
- Red – /99
- Pink Velocity – /79
- Blue – /49
- Black Velocity – /39
- Gold – /10
- Green – /5
- Gold Vinyl – 1/1
Autographs combine to land one per hobby box. Rated Rookie Signatures make up a good chunk of these. According to Panini, these include hard-signatures. Holo, Blue (/49), Black Pandora (/25), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and Gold Vinyl (1/1) versions are also in the mix.

Bold and colorful inserts are part of virtually every modern Donruss release, whether it’s the flagship version or Optic. Hobby exclusives here include All-Stars, Elite Dominators, Lights Out, Raining 3s, The Rookies and Star Gazing.
